Fermentation took place in new and used 500-litre oak barrels, where the wine stayed for 10 months.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe nose is clean and young, quite fruit-driven, but also showing complexity and depth, with well-integrated oak. It's not an explosive wine; rather it's discreet and restrained, serious and harmonious. On the palate it has a smooth texture, finishing tasty with a pleasant, almost salty sensation.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e3,950 bottles were produced. It has restrained ripeness, 13% alcohol and a pH of 3.4. It shows effervescent freshness, with great cleanliness and precision, focus and balance, ending with a serious, chalky, stony finish. This wine is a clear step up from the 2023.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e3,100 bottles were produced. It was bottled in September 2025.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor Oxer Bastegieta, 2024 is an excellent vintage, fresher and more delicate than 2023. He wants to emulate the old tradition of co-planting and wines with character and freedom. There's a new red from Maturana Tinta, but it's always made, as he says, “my way”, with much lower alcohol and, surprisingly, no pyrazines.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe seeks texture and freshness, which for him come from cover crops, compost, soil microbiology and so on. He wants cleanliness, agility and precision in the wines. He has a co-planted keyline vineyard, with 1.5 hectares in San Vicente de la Sonsierra (La Rad, at 600 metres on very chalky soils) and 1.5 hectares in Leza, at 700 metres, which he described as his legacy for the future.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e2025 was a mildew year, and there will only be Kalamity, as many of the crus won't be made. He's studying Garnacha from Camprovín and Badarán and believes the grape will play a much bigger role in Rioja's future.
