The Cognac barrels may also slightly influence the flavours. Overall, it's a young Moscatel with some distinction, still at an affordable price. It's a blend of the 1996, 1999 and 2000 vintages. The most exciting of the Moscatels in this issue, this is where molasses and apricots come together to create something complex and special. The mid-palate has that rich, unctuous feel. Overall it stays well balanced, and the finish is practically endless. The question here isn't how long the finish lasts, but whether it will ever stop sending out waves of flavour. It's a blend of the 2002, 2008 and 2009 vintages, aged in very old 100-litre Portuguese chestnut casks containing old sediment.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMore balanced and at the same time more unctuous than the Roxo, this elegant Moscatel seems almost restrained after the two Roxo versions in this issue. Even so, it keeps all that liveliness typical of Moscatel; it's delicious.
