The first vintage was 1978, and it has since become a world reference for lovers of the northern Rhône, produced in very small quantities.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIn the glass it shows an intense colour and a nose of blackberry, violet, black olive, pepper and cured meat over a smoky background. The palate is dense and silky, with fine tannins, freshness and a long, spicy finish.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDecant for at least an hour and serve at 16–18 °C with game, duck, roast lamb or aged cheeses.
