The Pérez Calvet family acquired the Laserna vineyards (Laguardia, Rioja Alavesa) in 1930. They restored the vineyards and produced wine for their own consumption. It is the following generations (Pérez Villota) who drive the business and create a winery together with the CVNE group that will be Viñedos del Contino. And from 2013 the family separated from Contino and created its own line of wines with the company Viña del Lentisco and the wine brand Villota.

The Finca is located in a meander of the river Ebro el Laserna. They have the autochthonous varieties of La Rioja, such as Tempranillo, Graciano, Mazuelo and Garnacha in reds and white Garnacha, Viura. Garnacha: is a grape possibly of Spanish origin that requires a dry and hot climate due to its late ripening. It is a highly oxidative variety that produces wines with a high alcohol content, lots of red fruit aromas, few tannins, little color and little acidity. It's easy to see it blended with other grapes to give it more body and character. It can be found in Spain, southern France, Italy, Australia, California and Argentina.

The Graciano grape: also needs hot, arid tops. It is a low-yielding grape. It produces wines with an intense color, very good acidity, aromatic and with great aging capacity. It is usually mixed with other varieties, especially in La Rioja. In Andalusia it is known as Tintilla de Rota. It can be found in Navarra, Rioja, Andalusia, Castile, Valencia and Extremadura.

Tempranillo: It is one of the most appreciated and used grape varieties not only in Ribera del Duero and Rioja, but also in much of Spain. It is an early maturing grape (hence the name) with aromas of red fruits in cold climates and black fruits in warmer climates. It produces elegant, full-bodied and aromatic wines.

Tasting Notes: Bright, intense, very clean appearance. Two special aromas, with the characteristic Vileta spicy touch. notes of chocolate, caramel and a mineral memory. Aromas of crisp red fruits, a pungent delight tinged with a subtle balsamic accent, reminiscent of the fresh atmosphere of the undergrowth of holm oaks. Intense mouthfeel, fresh and balanced. Smooth and long.
