Description

Château Cheval Blanc is one of the icons of Saint-Émilion, on the border with Pomerol, and the label of this vintage bears the title Premier Grand Cru Classé "A". Its blend has a strong share of Cabernet Franc, completed with Merlot, which gives it a unique perfume and elegance. This 2005 vintage is one of Bordeaux's most coveted bottles.

In the glass it shows a deep colour and a nose of ripe black fruit, cedar, tobacco and graphite, with fine spice that gains complexity with air. The palate is structured and elegant, with firm yet polished tannins, fresh acidity and a long, persistent finish.

Decant one to two hours ahead and serve at 16–18 °C with roast kid, lamb chops, dry-aged beef or hard cheeses. It is a wine built for the long haul that rewards patient cellaring.
