Description

Malard Champagne Cuvée Excellence Brut is the flagship Champagne of Maison Malard, an independent house founded in 1996. It's known for a balanced profile combining freshness and structure, made mostly from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Appearance: An elegant, bright golden colour, with fine, persistent bubbles that show sophistication and care in production.

Aromas: On the nose it shows an expressive, refined bouquet, with candied fruit, dried apricot and nuts to the fore. With air, delicate notes of ripe apple and lemon emerge, intertwined with subtle touches of toast.

Palate: On the palate it's fruity, complex and well balanced. Apple and lemon notes confirm the nose, while nuances of toast, vanilla and a light buttery touch add depth and elegance. The structure is firm, with a creamy mousse and refreshing acidity that prolongs the pleasure.

Finish: Long, persistent and harmonious, with an aftertaste that reinforces the toasty and fruity notes.

Pairing: Perfect as an aperitif, Malard Cuvée Excellence Brut is also excellent with light dishes such as sea bass carpaccio with asparagus and a honey-lime dressing. Other recommended pairings include aged Parmesan or foie gras, which bring out its aromatic richness and complexity.

93 Points (Vinogrande): Given a high personal score by Vinogrande, highlighting its sophistication and care in production.

90 Points (Wine Enthusiast): Critic Roger Voss describes this Champagne as "well balanced, with ripe fruit enhanced by a well-judged dosage".

17.5/20 (Terra dos Vinhos): A score that confirms its high-quality profile among specialist tasters.
