He makes whites from Azorean varieties — Arinto dos Açores, Verdelho, Terrantez do Pico — from currais vineyards on lava by the Atlantic. Between 2014 and 2018 the grapes went to the Azores Wine Company, before returning to bottling under the Insula name.
