Quinta das Bágeiras - Espumante Bruto Branco

A very balanced, austere and serious nose, with subtle notes of raspberry and grapefruit. Firm, full-bodied, lively and flavourful on the palate, delivering a thoroughly fresh tasting.

It is made from free-run juice: the must is placed in small 1 m³ settling tanks for 24 to 36 hours to settle by natural precipitation. The must is then transferred to stainless steel tanks to ferment, with temperature controlled by chilled running water. Special care is taken to pick grapes with the right balance between acidity and alcohol. The base wine is usually made sparkling in March of the following year and, for the Reserva, aged 12 months in the cellar before disgorgement. It is a traditional-method sparkling wine, fermented in bottle, with riddling done by hand on wooden pupitres. As a natural brut, no sugar is added in the dosage.
