Description
Biondi-Santi, at Tenuta Greppo in Montalcino, is regarded as the creator of Brunello di Montalcino. The Riserva is its rarest wine, made only in the finest vintages.
The Sangiovese Grosso comes solely from the estate's old vines. After spontaneous fermentation the wine spends three years in Slavonian oak casks. The 2019 shows dark cherry, dried violet, balsamic notes, herbs and leather, with youthful tannins and a long, mineral finish.
Pair with game, braised meat and aged cheese. Serve at 16–18 °C after decanting.
Store the bottle lying down, away from light and vibration, at a steady 12 to 14 °C. At Vinogrande every bottle is carefully packed so it reaches you in the best condition.
