In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, dedicated to the cereal trade. Later, in 1750, in Vila Nova de Gaia, they began exporting Port Wine to Europe and the British Isles. From generation to generation, they stood out for the rigor and knowledge they devoted to Port Wine, elevating the Burmester name to the highest level of quality and international recognition.

We can consider Burmester as a vintage specialist, with magnificent vintages at its disposal and which it releases regularly. Even so, its Vintage Ports are of excellent quality, showing their splendor in great vintage years.

At the end of the millennium, Burmester was acquired by the Sogevinus Group, which continues to immortalize brands created five centuries ago.
