Description
Natus Branco 2024 is a minimal-intervention white made in Vidigueira, Alentejo, by the family project Natus Vini. Designed with a markedly food-friendly profile, it stands out for the complexity and texture that come from partial skin contact.
In the heart of Vidigueira, at the southern foot of the Serra do Mendro, on schist soils of sandy-loam and silty-loam texture, are the vines that gave this wine. The traditional grapes, mostly Roupeiro, Antão Vaz and Gouveio, were hand-picked and foot-trodden in lagar for 2 days. When fermentation started spontaneously, the grapes were pressed and the must kept in traditional talhas and used oak barrels until the end of alcoholic fermentation. It aged for 8 months in the fermentation barrels, topped up from the talhas, on full lees, with light stirring each month.
Colour & aromaLemon colour with green glints. A citrus nose of good complexity, with typical notes of stone fruit and white-fleshed fruit. On the palate it has the presence and grip of tannins from the partial skin contact, giving freshness and texture. Harmonious, dense and broad, it calls for rich dishes at the winter table and long, warm summer nights.
