Susana Esteban Cabriolet Red 2017

Susana Esteban was born in 1969 in Tui, Spain. She holds a degree in Chemical Sciences from the University of Santiago de Compostela and a Master’s in Viticulture and Oenology from the University of La Rioja. She began her career as a winemaker in 1999 at Quinta do Côtto, and later worked as a winemaker at Quinta do Crasto between 2002 and 2007. Both estates are located in the Douro. Since the 2007 harvest, she has worked as a consultant for various producers in the Alentejo, including Tiago Cabaço Wines, Solar dos Lobos, Monte dos Cabaços and Monte da Raposinha. During this career, her work has been recognised both nationally and internationally. In 2012, she was awarded the most prestigious award that a winemaker can receive in Portugal, the title of “Oenologist of the Year”, by Revista de Vinhos, and to date she is the only woman to have been awarded this distinction. At the end of 2009, Susana Esteban decided to start her personal project, aiming to make wines with a different character from traditional Alentejo and to give life to two magnificent wines, Aventura and Procura.
