Hacienda Monasterio Reserva is a red wine from the DO Ribera del Duero produced by Bodegas Hacienda Monasterio, one of the great wineries that we can find in Ribera del Duero. Peter Sisseck, creator of one of the best-known Spanish wines such as Pingus, and Carlos de la Fuente are those who extract the grape's full potential and manage to create wines that reflect and express the qualities of the land where they grew. Bodegas Hacienda Monasterio practices ecological agriculture that respects the environment. They do not use any type of pesticides or herbicides. For compost, they use composted vine remains together with sheep manure. Hacienda Monasterio Reserva is a blend of Tinto Fino (80%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%). The grapes come from a south-facing farm with predominantly limestone soil, which means the variety contributes a lot of elegance and finesse to the wines.

The harvest is done manually and the grapes are transported to the winery in small plastic boxes, preventing them from breaking before reaching the winery to keep all properties intact. After de-stemming, the grapes go through a meticulous selection process. Fermentation is done only with natural yeasts. Malolactic fermentation takes place in French Allier oak barrels, with racking every three months, a process that helps separate the grapes from the lees. Hacienda Monasterio Reserva ages for 18 months in French Allier oak barrels before resting in the bottle for at least another 12 months before entering the market. A complex and very expressive red wine from the Ribera del Duero and Tinto Fino grape varieties.
