Description
Flaccianello della Pieve is Fontodi's top wine, from Panzano in Chianti, and one of Tuscany's great pure Sangioveses. It comes from the estate's own organically farmed vineyards in Panzano's Conca d'Oro.
It is 100% Sangiovese, classified as Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT, at 15% abv. The 2021 shows black cherry, dark fruit, spice and balsamic notes, with great concentration, firm tannins and a deep, lasting finish.
Pair with bistecca alla fiorentina, braised meat, game and aged cheese. Serve at 17–18 °C.
Store the bottle lying down, away from light and vibration, at a steady 12 to 14 °C. At Vinogrande every bottle is carefully packed so it reaches you in the best condition.
