Description
Sassicaia is the wine of Tenuta San Guido in Bolgheri and the red that paved the way for the so-called Super Tuscans. The first commercial vintage was 1968 and it now has its own appellation, Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC.
Sassicaia blends Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, aged in French oak barriques. The 2022 shows dark fruit, spice and Mediterranean herbs, fine tannins and a freshness that gives it long ageing potential.
Pair with red meat, game and roasts. Serve at 18 °C, ideally after decanting.
Store the bottle lying down, away from light and vibration, at a steady 12 to 14 °C. At Vinogrande every bottle is carefully packed so it reaches you in the best condition.
