A beautifully balanced and energetic Chablis Grand Cru. From one of the finest vineyards in Chablis. The vines were planted in 1947. The Bessin-Tremblay parcel is located on the south side of Valmur, from where the vines face northwest. This gives the wines excellent structure and freshness.
The Bessin family has been farming their land since 1880, in the commune of Chablis to be precise. Today, the Domaine Bessin-Tremblay is run by the fourth generation of the family, on a 12-hectare property with many old vines, some of which date back to the 1930s. The Chardonnay grapes are harvested by hand and the must contains only indigenous yeasts, in addition to being transferred to temperature-controlled vats.
The fermentation process is carried out in neutral oak barrels and the wines are aged for an average of 15 to 18 months. Bessin wines are among the most sought-after Chablis wines, including labels such as Chablis Vieilles Vignes, Chablis 1er Cru, La Forchaume and Chablis Valmur Grand Cru.
