Prior Lucas Fénix White 2022

Rui Lucas’ great-grandfather, José Francisco Prior, was a small farmer from the parish of Souselas, who cultivated vineyards and did all his business in the city of Coimbra. Over the years, the properties were divided among his children and grandchildren, and the wine business was gradually lost. In the last decade, his father, José Prior Lucas, has been cultivating the plots that belonged to his father, producing wine that he shared at the table with family and friends. Continuing the family tradition, Rui decided to expand the sharing, producing wine by regrouping the vineyards of his great-grandfather, who in his time sold all his wine in the bohemian taverns of the Coimbra academy. Maintaining the small production, not only to make a small number of bottles, but because it is a great pleasure to watch each vineyard grow, to monitor each vine and the respective development of the grapes, defining and imagining the wine that will come out of it for each bottle. It is a wonderful process!

Intense and complex, with aromas and flavors unfolding in layers, dried grass, wild flowers, sour orange and white plum, nutmeg, smoke. Great volume enlivened by excellent acidity, in a wine with immense character.
