95 points James Suckling, 94 points Robert Parker, and 94 points Tim Atkin
Viña Ardanza Reserva is not only one of the best wines in Rioja and Spain, but also an emblem internationally. With each harvest, he has managed to convince both critics and the public. His now classic blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha is pure balance and silkiness. In the words of its creator, winemaker Julio Sáenz, “ it stands out for its freshness and great potential to continue growing. It reminds me of the magnificent vintages of Viña Ardanza, such as 2005 or 2015 ”.
Intense cherry red colour, with garnet highlights on the rim of the glass. With great aromatic power, initially with a fruity character (cherry, blackcurrant, red plum) and then giving way to balsamic and spicy notes (pepper, liquorice, clove, vanilla, toasted caramel and nutmeg). On the palate it is fresh and balanced, with fine, silky tannins. A broad aftertaste that combines red fruits and spices with a fresh and long character.
