What it is

Sweetness comes from the grape's natural sugar that did not turn into alcohol (residual sugar). A dry wine has almost none; a Port or a late-harvest wine has a lot.

Made entirely from the noble Boal grape, this blend is a selection of wines aged in oak casks by the traditional canteiro method, with an average age of 15 years.

The latest release of Borges's NV Boal 15 Anos offers complex aromas of dates, mocha, warm spices and caramel. On the palate it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with a core of sweet, inviting fruit, lively acidity and a long, expansive finish. A charming Boal with delicate oak notes that's showing very well.
