Bottled in December 2024 with a dosage of one gram per litre, Dehours's NV Brut Grande Réserve is based on the 2022 vintage and reinforced with 40% to 50% reserve wines from a perpetual cuvée started in 1998. It opens with expressive aromas of pear, peach, orange peel and honeysuckle. The palate is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and generous, supported by vibrant acidity. Demonstrative and approachable, it promises immediate pleasure.
Based in Cerseuil, this 16-hectare domaine's vineyards, split into 45 parcels, lie on the left bank of the Marne along one of its tributaries, covering a wide range of exposures. As well as farming his own grapes, Jérôme Dehours adds fruit from two further hectares. Rich in clay mixed with sand and prone to landslips, these steep vineyards sit on limestone rather than chalk, at altitudes from 90 to 200 metres, giving an equally varied geology. Pinot Meunier is the star here, and the village is a favourite sourcing spot for Maison Krug.
