Description:

Couquinho, the wine that in the local language of Alto Douro means “a place difficult to access”, has been produced on one of the Melo Trigo family farms for more than two centuries. Many of the farms that once belonged to the family are, as well as Quinta do Couquinho, located in the Vilariça Valley where local legends and stories appear interconnected with the family.

The complexity of the blend of grape varieties from the old vines gives the wine a complexity that takes us to the sensations of Esteva and bush with an elegant presence of very well integrated wood. In the mouth it is full, with an elegant finish where wild fruits are present, with a very fine finish, the result of very polished tannins. A wine with an excellent structure, perfect for red meat, sausages and game dishes. A good Guarda wine.
