Wine profile
Body
This wine: 2 out of 5 — closer to «light».
How heavy and full the wine feels in your mouth — from light like skimmed milk to rich like cream. It comes mainly from alcohol, extract and, in sweet wines, sugar.
Wine profile
Tannin
This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «firm».
Tannins come from grape skins, seeds and oak. You feel them as a pleasant drying grip on gums and tongue — from silky and velvety to firm and chewy.
Wine profile
Acidity
This wine: 5 out of 5 — closer to «crisp».
The freshness that makes your mouth water, like a squeeze of lemon. It gives a wine tension, length and ageing potential, and makes it great with food.
Wine profile
Alcohol
This wine: 3 out of 5 — right in the middle (12.5% vol.).
Alcohol brings warmth and body. Still wines usually sit between about 11% and 15% ABV, while fortified wines such as Port sit around 19–20%.

Description
Kimbrel Lameiro 2022 is a single-plot DOC Douro red made from a field blend. Created by winemaker Isaac Campelo and American producer David Sylvester of the Kimbrel Wine Company, it stands out for its elegance, respecting the heritage of the historic Quinta do Roncão.
Kimbrel Lameiro 2022: Tasting Note
A singular red in the Douro context, Kimbrel Lameiro 2022 expresses a minimal-intervention vision, favouring elegance, freshness and authenticity of terroir. It has a light, delicate colour, reflecting gentle extraction and an approach that favours finesse over concentration.
AromaOn the nose it shows remarkable aromatic purity, precisely conveying the identity of its Roncão Valley plot. With no oak influence, the fruit and sense of place come through clearly, directly and transparently.
PalateOn the palate it stands out for vibrant acidity, giving great freshness and energy. The whole is light, precise and elegant, evoking a philosophy closer to great red Burgundy than to the traditionally robust Douro profile. A finely textured, harmonious, sophisticated wine, distinguished by its subtlety, balance and ability to convey the essence of the vineyard without artifice.
Producer Details
The Estate: Based at the historic Quinta do Roncão (in Alijó, in the Roncão Valley), a property dating back to 1851.
The Partnership: The business combines David Sylvester's international vision with the technical know-how of Portuguese winemaker Isaac Campelo, who makes the wines and is a partner in the project.
The Concept: The producer works "Napa Valley style": precision micro-vinifications (very small lots), rigorous attention to detail, sustainable practices and even night harvests.
Production: Deliberately limited and focused on the luxury segment, capped at around 20,000 bottles a year (split between DOC Douro wines and Port)
