Wine profile
Body
This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «full».
How heavy and full the wine feels in your mouth — from light like skimmed milk to rich like cream. It comes mainly from alcohol, extract and, in sweet wines, sugar.
Wine profile
Tannin
This wine: 2 out of 5 — closer to «silky».
Tannins come from grape skins, seeds and oak. You feel them as a pleasant drying grip on gums and tongue — from silky and velvety to firm and chewy.
Wine profile
Acidity
This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «crisp».
The freshness that makes your mouth water, like a squeeze of lemon. It gives a wine tension, length and ageing potential, and makes it great with food.
Wine profile
Alcohol
This wine: 5 out of 5 — closer to «high» (14.5% vol.).
Alcohol brings warmth and body. Still wines usually sit between about 11% and 15% ABV, while fortified wines such as Port sit around 19–20%.
Wine profile

Description
Château Fonplégade 2020 is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé red, recognised for its elegance and purity, and the estate's first vintage with full biodynamic certification.
The Wine AdvocateRP 92Reviewed by: William Kelley
Another successful vintage for this estate, the 2020 Fonplégade offers aromas of cherries, plums, liquorice and pencil shavings, followed by a medium to full-bodied, deep, refined palate ending with a saline, attractively floral finish. It's one of the 2020s that shows more elegance than its 2019 counterpart.
Published: 6 April 2023.
James Suckling: Very attractive aromas of crushed berries, black cherries and flowers, such as violets. Some walnuts and dark chocolate, too. It's medium to full-bodied, with very fine, polished tannins that are supple and beautiful. It's lively and energetic, with a juicy finish. Biodynamically farmed. Drink after 2025.
