Description
Thibault Liger-Belair Moulin-à-Vent Les Vieilles Vignes 2022 is a high-quality red from France's prestigious Beaujolais region, made from century-old Gamay vines. Known for his Burgundy-inspired approach to Beaujolais, renowned winemaker Thibault Liger-Belair draws enormous elegance and aromatic complexity from this unique terroir.
Vineyards: The wine comes from nine plots of very old vines (over a hundred years old) on the best terroirs of the appellation. The soils are complex, made up of sand, pink granite, blue granite, clays and sediments.
Region: Beaujolais, specifically the Moulin-à-Vent appellation, in the communes of Chénas and Romanèche-Thorins.
Tasting notes: This wine shows remarkable complexity and balance, with aromas of red fruit (cherry, raspberry) and notes of spice.
Ageing potential: It can be enjoyed young, but also has good ageing potential and can be drunk between two and eight years after the harvest.
Food Pairing: Ideal with grilled red meat (beef fillet, tournedos), slow-cooked dishes such as boeuf bourguignon and roast poultry.
