Ritus-940 2019 - Very elegant, subtle and balanced wine

Located at an altitude of 940 metres, our La Malata estate crowns the Ribera del Duero, making it the perfect enclave for obtaining grapes of exceptional quality. Extreme climatic conditions, with stony and poor soils, give this wine a unique visual power and aromas.

This wine comes from our La Malata estate, located at over 940 m above sea level, making it one of the highest in the appellation. The varieties that give life to Ritus are 75% Tempranillo and 25% Merlot, all grown in bowls on poor, stony soils and harvested by hand. The grapes for Ritus are always the last to enter the winery. This ensures optimal maturation, fermenting in 10,000 kg tanks without the addition of yeast. Maceration can last up to twenty days.

Tasting Notes: This is a cherry red wine with a high body and medium density. The nose is delicate and fresh, with a first impression that reminds us of red fruits. The predominant notes are spices such as cinnamon and toasted ageing that remind us of cedar, vanilla pods and autumn leaves. On the palate, we can appreciate a very elegant and well-worked wood. It is fresh, long, with a very integrated acidity; the tannin begins to polish it and makes it delicious and elegant. It has great ageing power.

Decanter: A lovely wine with everything you would expect from a red like this. The palate is structured, with soft tannins, evident oak and a fruity mouthfeel. Fabulous.

James Suckling: Aromas of dark fruits, flowers and baking spices. Medium to full body, with fine, velvety tannins. Textured and layered, with notes of dark cherries on the savory, blueberry-like finish. Drink now or cellar.
