Aster El Espino 2021
Aster El Espino 2021 - 2021 is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
95 points James Suckling and 93 points José Peñin
James Suckling: Fresh blackberries, strawberries, blueberries and black pepper with cocoa powder and fine spices. Fragrant and expressive in fruit, but deep. The wood here is very subtle. Really juicy and precise on the palate, with fine, chalky tannins. Tension and length. Drink now or cellar. (Zekun Shuai)
Tim Atkin: This is the second vintage of Áster’s entry-level red wine, made with components from the El Espino, El Picón and Fuentecojo parcels in Anguix. Elegance is the goal here, according to Julio Sáenz. The wood has integrated into the wine with an extra year in the bottle. Fresh and chalky, it has good structure and support, with red fruits and plums, as well as good aging potential. 2024-2029.
