Description
Casa Rojo Tinta Fina 2020 is a Spanish red from the prestigious Ribera del Duero DO. Made by Casa Rojo, it's 100% Tempranillo (known locally as Tinta Fina or Tinto Fino), from old vines on high-altitude soils.
Our wines reflect our life: everything we've lived since 2000, when we started making them, and everything we've felt since our son arrived in 2023.
Wine is our life. Wine is love, and that's exactly what led us to be born into winemaking in Murcia, to discover and experience the banks of the Douro river, and to the arrival of our son, Tokyo Gomez Rojo.
Three origins that are at the same time three destinations. Three different moments in our lives, in which we felt winemaking differently.
100% Tinto Fino from the villages of Villálvaro, Sotillo de la Ribera, Moradillo, Hontoria, Peñafiel, Quintana del Pidio, Anguix and Curiel de Duero, at an average altitude of 850 to 900 metres, all in the provinces of Burgos and Valladolid. The grapes come from old vines aged between 35 and 100 years.
Tintafina is an intense, clear garnet red. An intense nose of wild-berry compote with notes of aromatic herbs such as thyme and sage, wrapped in spice and toasty notes from ageing in French oak barrels. Very powerful, structured and elegant on the palate, with a long finish. The ripe black fruit wraps the palate with fruity ‘nuances’. The French-oak tannin structure anchors the wine on the finish, giving it great persistence. A slightly spicy, fresh finish.
