Description

Heraclio Alfaro Crianza is a crianza red from Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano, made by the Heraclio Alfaro project within the D.O.Ca. Rioja.

Terras Gauda, a winery known mainly for championing Albariño from Rías Baixas, has embarked on a new project to make high-quality wines. Such is Heraclio Alfaro, a D.O.Ca. Rioja red that reflects the personality and character of the red grapes in their natural habitat.

Thirty hectares of 40-year-old vineyards are farmed to make Heraclio Alfaro Crianza. Loam soils and a Mediterranean climate with continental influence give Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano grapes typical of the D.O.Ca. Rioja.

Heraclio Alfaro Crianza 2021 has an intense, attractive red colour. On the nose there are elegant aromas of ripe black fruit such as blackberries, with red-fruit compote, subtle spice and dried herbs. On the palate it's balanced, with a smoothness that makes it very enjoyable and a freshness that highlights its light character. The oak is well integrated, giving a long finish and a mineral texture that makes it juicy and pleasurable.
