Description
Rocca delle Macìe Campo Maccione Vermentino 2025 is an Italian white from the Maremma in Tuscany, known for its fresh, mineral and aromatic profile.
James Suckling:
Nose: A "delicious, fruity and subtle" Vermentino, with notes of pears, ripe peaches and wild herbs on the nose.
Palate: Medium-bodied with fresh acidity. Described as "seductive and mineral at the centre", with a core of crisp fruit and a refreshing finish.
Rocca delle Macìe is one of Tuscany's most dynamic wineries, which in little more than a quarter of a century has established itself as one of Italy's most important.
It was founded in 1973, when director and film-maker Italo Zingarelli fulfilled his lifelong dream by buying the Le Macìe estate, about 85 hectares of which only two were vineyards, creating this winery in the heart of the Chianti Classico appellation in Castellina in Chianti. In 1978 the first vintage under the Rocca delle Macìe name reached the Italian and foreign markets, quickly winning over professionals and the public.
Italo passed his love and passion for the Tuscan land on to his children Fabio, Sandra and Sergio. In 1985 Sergio began working alongside his father, handling the international distribution network, and in 1989, with his wife Daniela, he took over the running of the azienda. Since then, the charismatic Sergio has worked intensely on quality, giving Rocca delle Macìe international prestige and excellent awards from the specialist press.
