Description

Reserva began with an experiment in 1995, when Soalheiro was one of the first to try combining Alvarinho with French oak. After much experimentation, in 2006 we developed the Reserva style that exists today. This wine shows Alvarinho in its full essence, without the influence of the used oak masking the grape's character. The barrel nuances are very well integrated, complementing Alvarinho's aromatic profile while adding a new dimension of structure and complexity.

Soalheiro Reserva has the character to be enjoyed with or without food. Evolution in oak barrels and its acidity make Soalheiro Reserva a perfect wine for dishes traditionally associated with red wines. It's perfect with oily fish, red meat, goat, lamb, turkey, duck, game, chicken or any dish with cream or mushroom sauce, and also pairs well with Asian and Mediterranean cuisine.
