Description
Astrales 2020 is a high-quality Spanish red from Ribera del Duero, made by Bodegas Los Astrales. It's a 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) single-varietal from old vines around Anguix (Burgos)
Astrales 2020 was rated 92 points by Robert Parker, in a note by critic Luis Gutiérrez for The Wine Advocate.
According to the review, it's a vintage showing remarkable balance between the region's characteristic power and fresh fruit, avoiding any sign of overripeness.
On the nose, notes of ripe blackberries and plums stand out, complemented by spicy nuances of pepper and vanilla. On the palate it has a juicy texture and a medium to full body.
Balsamic notes and touches of Mediterranean scrub such as thyme and eucalyptus also stand out, adding depth and complexity.
18 months in oak is described as discreet and well integrated, contributing to a persistent, harmonious and balanced finish.
Tasting Summary (James Suckling)

PalateOn the palate the wine is medium- to full-bodied, with firm but polished tannins giving a solid base to the juicy fruit. The finish is long, focused and elegant, showing effective integration of oak and freshness, inviting the next sip.
