The classic red 2020 Mauro comes from a cooler year, with freshness and balance. It's powerful and ripe, with 14.5% alcohol and a medium- to full-bodied palate, a juicy, creamy wine with very good balance and great drinkability. It was made with Tinto Fino/Tempranillo and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and matured in barrels and foudres of different ages for 15 months.
This is a very enjoyable vintage of Mauro, with excellent balance and structure and therefore potential to age in bottle. 300,000 bottles were produced, bottled in a single batch in April 2022.
The Wine AdvocateRP 94+Reviewed by: Luis Gutiérrez
The aromatic, clean 2023 Mauro is a classic example of the house style — elegant and fresh, keeping its juiciness and fine tannins, well-integrated oak and a precise, defined finish. The tannins are round and elegant, giving a silky texture. It's a very easy-drinking, versatile Mauro that can go with a wide range of dishes. It's mostly Tempranillo, with 20% Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Graciano, with good ripeness and 14.5% alcohol. It aged in barrels and foudres for 16 months. 300,000 bottles were produced. It was bottled in April 2023.
