Description
Victorino 2021 is a prestigious red from Toro, Spain, made by the renowned Teso La Monja (Eguren family). It's made entirely from Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo), from ungrafted old vines aged between 45 and over 100 years.
Victorino 2021 — Tasting Note (James Suckling: 95 pts)
With a 95-point rating, Victorino 2021 stands out as one of the most expressive vintages of this wine.
In his review, James Suckling describes it as an “extraordinary Toro wine”, showing a balanced combination of structure and elegance. The tannins are well integrated, with a fine, slightly dusty texture, giving depth to the whole.
Aromatically, it shows great intensity and richness, with notes of ripe blackberries, dark chocolate, graphite and a touch of sweet spice, creating a complex, enveloping profile.
On the palate, the finish is long and persistent, marked by a savoury component and a subtle peppery touch that adds character.
Drinking is recommended from 2026, when the wine should begin to show its full potential.
By comparison, this vintage surpasses 2019 (93 points) and stands alongside the best editions made by Teso La Monja.
