Pio Cesare Barbaresco Il Bricco 2021 has been widely acclaimed by international critics, establishing itself as one of the highest-scoring vintages of this prestigious Piedmont cru.

Made with grapes from the village of Treiso, the Pio Cesare 2021 Barbaresco Il Bricco shows a well-defined mineral character, with notes of dusty chalk rising above aromas of blackberry and dried blueberry. In the background are hints of lilac, dried iris root, mint and garden herbs. What truly sets this wine apart, though, are its elegant chalky mineral nuances, which blend perfectly with fine, powdery tannins.

Scores and Critical Reviews
James Suckling | 98 Points: Rated a magnificent wine with "tension, well-formed muscles and harmony", highlighting aromas of oysters, tar and black fruit with a very long finish.
Wine Enthusiast | 96 Points: Ranked 62nd in the Top 100 Cellar Selections (wines highly recommended for cellaring). Critic Jeff Porter praised its sensory complexity recalling pipe tobacco and sweet spice.
Vinous (Antonio Galloni) | 96 Points: Highlighted the sensual first impact that quickly reveals an imposing structure of acidity and firm tannins.
Falstaff | 96 Points: Praised the precise nose (raspberry, plum, tobacco and cardamom) and its compact, savoury tannins with truffle notes on the finish.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate | 95 Points: Highlighted the vintage's strong mineral character (chalk and crushed limestone) layered over blackberries and herbal notes, praising the finesse of its tannins.
Wine Spectator | 95 Points: Bruce Sanderson described the vintage as showing excellent harmony and fruity energy, with recommended ageing potential to 2045
