Description
Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino 2020 is a structured Sangiovese red from Tuscany, Italy, known for its elegance and great ageing potential. This vintage stands out for being more approachable and ready to drink than usual for the brand, while keeping remarkable complexity.
The Wine AdvocateRP 94Reviewed by: Monica Larner
Showing very positive results, with greater approachability in this vintage, the Il Poggione 2020 Brunello di Montalcino offers dark fruit aromas with blackcurrant, followed by spicy and herbal notes. It recalls liquorice root, exotic spice, pressed rose and perfumed tea leaf. It finishes smoothly, with silky tannins and a more open structure. This vintage is almost ready to drink while offering elegant complexity. It ages for three years in oak botti. The grapes come from vineyards over 25 years old. This is a large production of 200,000 bottles.
