Description
AALTO 2023 is an exceptional red made by Bodegas Aalto in Spain's prestigious Ribera del Duero region by the renowned winemaker Mariano García, from 100% Tempranillo (Tinto Fino).
The 2023 vintage reflects a hot growing season with full ripening, marked by an intense summer drought and heatwaves. Even so, the wine is remarkably balanced, structured and fresh, especially compared with other equally dry years.

The Aalto 2023, the red that gives the house its name, has an intense, enveloping nose marked by high-quality oak, notes of toast, smoke and spice, over a base of ripe red and black fruit. It's slightly less ripe than in previous years, with 14.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.58 and 5.43 g/L acidity.
It's a powerful, concentrated wine, supported by very fine tannins and excellent balance. It should develop very well in bottle. It's a blend of old-vine Tempranillo, aged for 17 months in French and American oak barrels.
330,000 bottles were produced, and the wine was bottled in July 2025.
Aalto is one of the great success stories and a benchmark of the modern Ribera del Duero wine movement, under the experienced guidance of winemaker Mariano García. The estate controls 130 hectares of vineyards across different parts of the region, producing around 380,000 bottles of ripe, powerful wines generously marked by oak ageing, which have become very popular in certain markets and segments.
