Description
Eisele Vineyard Syrah 2019 is a red from Napa Valley, California, widely recognised for its elegance and a profile inspired by northern Rhône Côte-Rôtie. Made from certified organic and biodynamic grapes, it stands out for its purity and sophisticated structure.
Founded in the 1970s, Eisele Vineyard is in the Napa Valley, east of Calistoga, on a site that has grown grapes since the late 19th century. Farming organically and biodynamically, the estate has around 65 hectares, mostly Cabernet Sauvignon.
Made in limited quantities from pure Syrah, this Eisele Vineyard red is elegant and very balanced, helped by a favourable climate with a good alternation of sunny days and cool nights that ensures freshness and concentration. Fermentation includes about a fifth whole bunches, and the final wine rests in a combination of new and used French oak and amphorae.
In the glass it's intense red-purple, with an expressive, seductive nose of dark fruit and violets over a spicy background with touches of pepper and cumin. On the palate it's generous and enveloping, with an almost unctuous texture and a tasty concentration of fruit. Velvety tannins and medium to full body. The long, persistent finish recalls dried herbs and pepper. Ideal with red meat and roast lamb.
