Description
G.D. Vajra Langhe DOC Nebbiolo is an Italian red from Piedmont, made from young vines in Barolo, Novello and Sinio. The producer describes this wine as a search for the "innocence of Nebbiolo", focusing on aromatic purity and the grape's characteristic freshness.
The Wine AdvocateRP 91Reviewed by: Monica Larner
From a challenging vintage, the G.D. Vajra 2024 Langhe Nebbiolo shows a core of ruby-toned fruit with aromas of wild rose, violet and blood orange.
Nebbiolo is particularly sensitive to site and growing conditions, and the cooler, rain-marked 2024 season in the Langhe produced wines of more delicate structure and brighter aromatics.
This vintage has a fine, delicate profile that suits the grape well, despite heavy rain pressure and concerns about mildew. Those conditions gave a wine with a light texture and slender structure — qualities that, given its accessible price, are a real plus.
