Body
This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «full».
How heavy and full the wine feels in your mouth — from light like skimmed milk to rich like cream. It comes mainly from alcohol, extract and, in sweet wines, sugar.

This wine: 3 out of 5 — right in the middle.
The freshness that makes your mouth water, like a squeeze of lemon. It gives a wine tension, length and ageing potential, and makes it great with food.

Description
Gómez Cruzado revives a historic house brand known for its youth and fruity profile. A wine created to show the vineyard's identity to the full, so no barrels are used in its making. Garnacha and Tempranillo are blended in concrete to be refined and reach the market showing their purity and identity.
Gómez Cruzado El Predilecto 2023 is a fruity, fresh red true to the Ebro Valley terroir, clearly expressing its old vines.
The Wine AdvocateRP 92+Reviewed by: Luis Gutiérrez
The young 2023 El Predilecto red was made from a blend of 65% Garnacha and 35% Tempranillo, seeking to express the pure character of the fruit without oak. The grapes fermented separately with indigenous yeasts and the wine aged on its lees in concrete tanks for six to eight months.
It's juicy, vibrant and marked by primary fruit, with floral and herbal notes, without losing ripeness. It has 14.5% alcohol and a pH of 3.64, with a delicate texture and very fine tannins. It's an approachable wine, easy to enjoy and understand.
32,000 bottles were produced. Bottling took place in July 2024.
2023 was winemaker Juan Bautista Sáenz's first vintage at Gómez Cruzado, though he also finished and bottled some of the previous vintage's wines. That same year the winery began expanding its premises in the emblematic Barrio de la Estación in Haro, aiming to finish the work in time for the 2025 harvest. The estate now has 9.4 hectares of vines and also manages about 50 hectares belonging to small growers. Annual production is around 350,000 bottles.
