Alentejo (Vidigueira), Portugal · since 1997
A Vidigueira estate in the Lança family since 1920, when Ernesto dos Santos Lança bought it. For decades its grapes went to the local co-operative, until in 1997 António Lança set up as a producer-bottler and released the estate's first wine. The fourth generation now runs it, with Diogo Lopes as winemaker.

Body
This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «full».

Wine profile
Tannin
This wine: 2 out of 5 — closer to «silky».
Tannins come from grape skins, seeds and oak. You feel them as a pleasant drying grip on gums and tongue — from silky and velvety to firm and chewy.
Wine profile

This wine: 3 out of 5 — right in the middle.
The freshness that makes your mouth water, like a squeeze of lemon. It gives a wine tension, length and ageing potential, and makes it great with food.

Description
This talha wine stands out for its harmonious combination of traditional grapes such as Tinta Caiada and Tinta Grossa with the nobler Touriga Franca, resulting in a red with a surprising profile. On the nose, fresh red fruit stands out, wrapped in exotic notes, with the distinctive character of Tinta Grossa very present. There's also a subtle touch of varnish, adding complexity and authenticity. On the palate it impresses with elegance and balance: fine tannins, well-integrated acidity and a finish that invites the next sip. A talha wine with soul and pleasure, true to tradition but with a modern touch.
