Description
Inniskillin Icewine Riesling Branco 2022 (375 ml) is a prestigious Canadian dessert wine from the Niagara Peninsula in Ontario. Made by the renowned Inniskillin Estate Wines, this icewine stands out for its use of Riesling, whose vibrant acidity perfectly balances its extreme natural sweetness.
Inniskillin Riesling Icewine, from the Niagara Peninsula, Ontario (Canada), is made from 100% Riesling grapes naturally frozen at around −10 °C. At 9.5% alcohol, with residual sugar around 219 g/L and total acidity near 10.2 g/L, it strikes a perfect balance between sweetness and freshness. On the nose, bright notes of nectarine, Mirabelle plum and honey, plus floral ‘nuances’ of Earl Grey tea and lemongrass. On the palate it's intense and elegant, with flavours of apricot in syrup, hog plum, candied orange peel, ginger and walnut, all lifted by vibrant acidity and a long, citrusy finish. The vintage was considered challenging, with a late start to the harvest in January 2022, but made up for it in quality; only around 2,400 meticulously selected cases were made. Scored 96 points by Wine Enthusiast, 94 by Wine Spectator and 92 by Wine Advocate, it's a refined icewine with ageing potential.
