Description
If time is marked by special moments, Kopke's history is written in exceptional years. These are the years worth preserving in memory, so we can relive and celebrate them at any moment. When we recover years of history, we create another: the approximate average age determines the age under which these Kopke wines are listed.
The deep amber colour, with greenish tints, attests to this wine's long ageing in century-old wood. The first aromas signal slightly resinous exotic woods ending in a botanical bouquet recalling pennyroyal and other shade herbs.
On the palate it surprises with its endless freshness: notes of tangerine peel, dried apricot and liquorice slip into a core of spice and dried fruit. Then a light bitterness, persistent on the finish, highlights hints of coffee and clove, preparing the palate for the next sip. Silky and with incisive acidity, this is a wine that defies time, revealing with every sip a different order of its grace and charm.
