Wine profile
Body
This wine: 5 out of 5 — closer to «full».
How heavy and full the wine feels in your mouth — from light like skimmed milk to rich like cream. It comes mainly from alcohol, extract and, in sweet wines, sugar.
Wine profile

This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «firm».
Tannins come from grape skins, seeds and oak. You feel them as a pleasant drying grip on gums and tongue — from silky and velvety to firm and chewy.

The freshness that makes your mouth water, like a squeeze of lemon. It gives a wine tension, length and ageing potential, and makes it great with food.
Wine profile
Alcohol

Description
Oxer Wines Kuusu 2022 (also spelt Kurusu in some market references) is a limited-production red (only about 3,800 bottles) that breaks with the classic Toro style, with a markedly elegant, floral, fresh profile.
The Wine AdvocateRP 96Reviewed by: Luis Gutiérrez
I was impressed by the floral quality, perfume and elegance of the 2022 Kuusu from Oxer Bastegieta, as Toro wines are usually not like this. It has notes of violets and wild berries, recalling Touriga Nacional, including that "grapey" character that makes me think of Muscat pulp. It's dark, juicy and velvety, with abundant chalky tannins and a very tasty, smooth finish.
It was made with Tinta de Toro, the local Tempranillo, and about 10% white Albillo Mayor, from sandy, quartz-rich soils. It fermented in oak vats with indigenous yeasts and matured in 500- and 600-litre French and Austrian barrels for 10 months. 3,800 bottles were filled in September 2023.
Oxer Bastegieta makes one wine from a vineyard in Toro.
