Description
Quinta do Monte D'Oiro EX AEQUO 2022 is one of the most emblematic and prestigious reds of the Lisboa wine region (Alenquer). Created by producer José Bento dos Santos, it was originally born of a historic partnership with renowned Rhône Valley producer Michel Chapoutier. It's a top-of-the-range wine of European profile that perfectly combines Atlantic freshness with the structure of great grapes.
ColourA deep, concentrated, luminous ruby. The nose, discreet at first, shows remarkable freshness, with hints of black cherry, wild red berries and forest-floor notes, complemented by nuances of fruit jelly. As it opens in the glass, more complex layers emerge: clove, smoke, liquorice and a subtle minerality recalling the graphite of a freshly sharpened pencil.
PalateOn the palate it's medium-bodied, supported by a firm structure and precise acidity that give tension and liveliness. Well-defined, harmoniously integrated tannins bring texture and depth. The finish is long and persistent, marked by a spicy touch and a freshness that prolongs the tasting.
Food pairingFood Pairing
With its structure and peppery profile, it's perfect with rich meat dishes such as aged meats, saddle of lamb, oven-roast kid or game (such as braised pigeon). Ideally served between 16ºC and 18ºC.
