Wine profile
Body
This wine: 3 out of 5 — right in the middle.
How heavy and full the wine feels in your mouth — from light like skimmed milk to rich like cream. It comes mainly from alcohol, extract and, in sweet wines, sugar.
Wine profile
Acidity
This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «crisp».
The freshness that makes your mouth water, like a squeeze of lemon. It gives a wine tension, length and ageing potential, and makes it great with food.
Wine profile
Alcohol
This wine: 3 out of 5 — right in the middle (13% vol.).
Alcohol brings warmth and body. Still wines usually sit between about 11% and 15% ABV, while fortified wines such as Port sit around 19–20%.

Description
Mêda is being “rediscovered”.
Back in the 1950s and 60s its wines were well known and very popular in Porto's old restaurants, alongside Vinho Verde and Vinho Maduro.
Our relationship with Mêda began in 2003, and since then we have paid special attention to the region and its wines.
This terroir, once famous, is now diluted within the huge DOC Douro and has extraordinary potential of its own.
Although part of the Douro Superior, Mêda has its own character: a region between the Dão and the Douro, with features of both. A transitional schist/granite soil at altitudes of up to 700 m, with more rain than the rest of the Douro Superior, milder summers and colder winters.
For these reasons, in our view, this area should have its own denomination within the DOC Douro.
And so the wine Mater-Dôme, “the matter of the heights”, was born.
Pale gold.
AromaAn intense, fresh nose of citrus, lemongrass and white fruit.
PalateA rich palate with volume and lovely acidity.
FinishA long, persistent finish.
