Description

Kompassus Espumante Blanc de Noirs Late Release is a premium sparkling wine from the prestigious Bairrada region, made with consultant winemaker Anselmo Mendes. Unlike the classic version, the Late Release designation (such as the acclaimed 2017 vintage) indicates a substantially longer period of bottle ageing before disgorgement, resulting in a profile of enormous complexity and sophistication.

Tasting Note

Slightly coppery and pink in hue, it immediately reveals its Blanc de Noirs identity, with a very fine, persistent bead.

On the nose it is expressive and elegant, with notes of berries and plum combining harmoniously with more complex nuances of biscuit and citrus jelly from its ageing.

On the palate it is vibrant, fresh and beautifully textured, with a delicate mousse and a remarkable sense of balance. Its complexity, harmony and persistence carry through to an elegant, very food-friendly finish.
