Description
Prior Lucas Fénix Tinto 2023 is more than a wine: it's the celebration of a family story spanning generations. It goes back to my great-grandfather, José Francisco Prior, a small farmer from Souselas who devoted his life to the vineyard, selling his wine in Coimbra's bohemian taverns.
Over time the vineyards were scattered and the wine business was lost. But over the last decade my father, José Prior Lucas, began recovering the plots that belonged to his grandfather, making wine to share with family and friends. Inspired by that dedication and love of the land, I decided to carry on this tradition, bringing my great-grandfather's vineyards back together and reviving the wine that once marked the region.
Tasting Notes: A light, bright red colour. On the nose, notes of fresh red fruit and earthy nuances recalling mushrooms. On the palate it's elegant, dry and very focused on freshness, with vibrant acidity and moderate but well-marked tannins.
