Wine profile
Body
This wine: 5 out of 5 — closer to «full».
How heavy and full the wine feels in your mouth — from light like skimmed milk to rich like cream. It comes mainly from alcohol, extract and, in sweet wines, sugar.
Wine profile
Tannin
This wine: 2 out of 5 — closer to «silky».
Tannins come from grape skins, seeds and oak. You feel them as a pleasant drying grip on gums and tongue — from silky and velvety to firm and chewy.
Wine profile
Acidity
This wine: 3 out of 5 — right in the middle.
The freshness that makes your mouth water, like a squeeze of lemon. It gives a wine tension, length and ageing potential, and makes it great with food.
Wine profile
Alcohol
This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «high» (13.5% vol.).

Description
Every year, with her Sidecar project, Susana Esteban invites a prestigious winemaker to make a singular wine together at her Alentejo winery. The Sidecar 2018/19 edition is her latest collaboration with Ricardo Diogo, producer and winemaker at Madeira's emblematic Barbeito.
This blend of vintages is made exclusively from Alicante Bouschet, from 70-year-old vines in the Serra de São Mamede, aged in old Italian wine barrels. The result is of extraordinary complexity, structure and elegance, in a limited production of 2,100 bottles and 50 magnums.
Susana Esteban is one of Portugal's winemakers to watch. In 2012 she received the most prestigious award a winemaker can get in Portugal, “Winemaker of the Year” from Revista de Vinhos, and remains the only woman to have received it.
Very balsamic and earthy in a forest-floor profile, with ripe wild berries and a minty touch, eucalyptus leaf and lots of white pepper. Very elegant, but very lively in its bright yet silky tannins; super pure in fruit, broad and nervy. Still young, with huge potential to grow in bottle.
