Description
Tomás Postigo 5º Año 2021 is one of Ribera del Duero's most prestigious reds, known for its elegance and the signature of one of Spain's most respected winemakers, Tomás Postigo.
In this powerful Ribera del Duero red, you can feel the region's character in a carefully crafted version. Made mainly from Tinto Fino, it's blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec for added tension and nerve. The winery's mastery shows in the meticulous selection of grapes in a vintage rated Excellent by the D.O. Regulatory Council.
ColourIntense picota-cherry colour, with markedly garnet rims, showing elegance and concentration.
A complex, deep nose, with ripe red fruit interwoven with balsamic notes and red liquorice. The profile is fresh and Atlantic, enriched by earthy, mineral hints that give it great character.
PalateOn the palate it's structured and vibrant, with juicy acidity giving energy and freshness. The tannins are soft, ripe and very well integrated, supporting elegant notes of fine oak and cedar. The finish is persistent, slightly bitter, adding complexity, and promises excellent capacity to develop in bottle.
A wine of great personality, balanced and sophisticated, with a long life ahead.
