Description
Domaine Armand Rousseau in Gevrey-Chambertin is one of Burgundy's most revered houses, and this Chambertin Grand Cru comes from one of its most celebrated plots. It is a Pinot Noir of great purity, made in very small quantities and fought over by collectors worldwide. This 2019 vintage is a rare bottle that is hard to find.
In the glass it is a luminous ruby, with a nose of cherry, raspberry, rose, forest floor and delicate spice that opens slowly with air. The palate is fine and silky, with lacy tannins, lively acidity and a long, mineral finish.
Serve at 15–17 °C in a wide glass with game birds, duck, wild mushrooms or soft cheeses. It can be opened now with some air, but it has the capacity to evolve for many years in the cellar.
